Monday Beauty Poll
By GlindaPerfume is what 57% of you use when you want some scent. 17% of you like to layer various products, and I would throw myself in that category. Not only will I use perfume, but I will definitely use a complimentary lotion. 9% of you prefer to be without an artificial scent, and only small percentages use soap, lotions, and body sprays to achieve your desired smell.
Buying beauty products can be an expensive endeavor. However, it is possible to create anything from lip balm to exfoliators to shampoo in the comfort of your own home. And for a fraction of the price. How DIY are you when it comes to beauty?

I’ve never made anything more complicated than a scrub though.

I’m lazy too, but there are just some things that are always better when you select and use the best ingredients than things you can buy, ready-made.
Really good salt or sugar scrubs, for example. Tub soaks made with various salt compounds, then enhanced with various essential oils or emollient oils (or both–depends on what you need them to do). Any beeswax or oil based cream (such as calendula cream) that involves using dried flowers you grow picked at a particular time of the year and day. “Spa” treatment masks made with honey, or egg whites, or strawberries and yogurt, or avocado…or pure white, green, or grey clay. All of these are easy to do and not so expensive though you’re buying better ingredients than most cosmetics companies use.

Combination of laziness and lack of copious amounts of spare time.
