Hot Right Now: Spider Eyelashes(?)

Oh sure, it was all over the fall runways, but is anybody REALLY down with spider lashes? I mean, besides the few people who are going to embrace beauty trends no matter what.
I can honestly say that this is one trend I won’t be embracing.
Mainly because I’m picky with which trends I choose to follow, and looking like I am in desperate need of a lash comb is not currently one of them.
The LA Times reports that there are currently lash products out there to assist you in your quest for arachnid-like lashes, such as Lancome’s Hypnose Doll Eyes and MAC’s Opulash Optimum.
Meh, maybe I’ll try it on Halloween.

Lashes stuck together is a trend? Alright! Let’s also make lipstick that smudges and cakes, mascara that puts black dots under your eyes, and shiny noses trends! While we’re at it, can we also make trendy: messy hair, bruises, mosquito bites and scabs, tan lines, and foot calluses?

Ugh. I think those lashes look done with a very poor mascara–clumpy, clumpy, clumpy. And I can’t stand the “mascara on the bottom lash” look either. It doesn’t wear well, I don’t care how long lasting and smudge-proof the mascara purports to be. I know they slap fake eyelashes on these girls every time, so I can’t help but wonder how they managed a look this nasty, even with fakes.

Clumpy, stuck together lashes is a no, but I am loving that lipstick.
