Monday Beauty Poll
By GlindaThe majority of you (like me) would love to try out a place which applied makeup for you with no pressure and a set price, 56% to be exact. 28% would like it to be a tad easier on the wallet, and 10% have no interest. 6% would like to steal the idea, and I also join those ranks as well.
Today I want to see what you think about men and their experience with societal pressure to look a certain way.

I think there is a certain expectation for men to look good, but it is no where near the stress women are under. If a man doesn’t shave he is going for the “rugged” look, if his hair is starting to go grey he is “distinguished.” There is not a multi-billion dollar industry in place to convince men that they need various lotions, potions, powders and tonics to look good.
Although, that is starting to change. Just spen $80 at The Art of The Shave to restock my husbands shaving gear…

The minute a man gets fired for not wearing make-up to work, and then has to launch a big lawsuit for his right to work without it (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/05/harrods-employee-fired-makeup_n_890238.html),
this whole “men have it bad too” argument will get my support. Ditto for the moment a man gets fired for “being so attractive the rest of the staff can’t be productive” (http://www.villagevoice.com/2010-06-01/news/is-this-woman-too-hot-to-work-in-a-bank/).
