Monday Beauty Poll
By Glinda39% of you say that it’s the mood you’re in, rather than the season, that dictates your perfume choice. 30% switch from lighter to heavier depending on the weather, while 10% always wear the same thing regardless. A full 19% of you use no perfume at all, which I have to say is surprising to me.
Today’s question deals with being the recipient of something designed to make you more beauteous.

I almost always give people bath gels, usually food scented, but try to base them on what I know to be preferences-chocolate scented for the chocoholic, for example. And I love receiving bath products too, but once I got the ‘free gift with purchase’ part of my friends perfume purchase, wrapped up as my birthday gift, in a scent she knows I don’t wear, and that was not ok.

I love getting beauty products and I’m usually thrilled with what people have selected for me. But once I got a collection of gift cards for beauty products (one to a spa, one to a MAC store, one to a department store so I could pick out a perfume) and truth be told, I love to hang on to those cards so that I can use them to get something as a treat whenever I feel I need one. Sure the pleasure’s not immediate, but it can sure feel great to “indulge” in something I really want or some timely pampering at a time when it counts.

Sensitive skin + very particular preferences = do not buy me cosmetics or perfume unless it’s a duplicate of something I already have and love. I don’t mind trying something new, but I’ll try it in the store first and let you know if it works on me. Otherwise it’ll just sit on the counter taking up space. And that would be sad for both of us.
