Things I Don’t Do: “Dewey” Makeup

By Glinda

Because on me, it would simply translate into “oily.”

Don’t feel bad. On the pretty model, it translates as “freshly whelped”, and its a look we all lose just minutes after being born. After that, I just can’t separate “dewy” from some objectionable concepts: dewy as in “wet behind the ears”; or the idiotic idea that “women don’t sweat, they glow”, and that glow is the euphemistic “dew”; or that “dew” is what they invented blotting papers to combat.

  2. La Petite Acadienne Says:

Yeah, I don’t mind a bit of highlighting around the cheekbones and brow bones to make things a bit more glow-y, but what that model has going on? Too much. I don’t find it even looks good on her — I want to sit her down with some blotting papers (and a hairbrush, but that’s another subject…)
