Tuesday Beauty Poll

For 34% of you, it only takes 10-15 minutes to put your makeup on for a normal day out, and for 26%, it takes less than 10 and also less than 5. 5% take 15-20, and 3% take 30 minutes or more. I would say it takes me somewhere around 15, and I attribute that mostly to the fact I have a toddler.
Now, the picture above of a makeup-less (or mighty close to) Heidi Klum has been making the internet rounds, and it seems the internet had quite a bit to say about it. Let’s see where within the spectrum your opinion lies.

That is very poor lighting! I think she looks just fine, but I had to vote for option 3 just because her coloring looks ghastly. But I don’t think it’s her, unless she normally puts makeup all over her entire body!

I don’t think the lighting is “bad”, per se, but I do think she’s purposely overexposed. Despite that effort, it’s pretty clear she’s still wearing quite a lot of makeup on her face. Foundation and powder, mascara and very subtle eyeliner just along the top lashes, full on blush and lipstick with gloss. The colours are muted and subtle, but they are still all there. And that being said, I’d have chosen other, better colours for a “natural” appearance than the ones used here. A better lip colour, anyway–one that actually mimics the natural pigmentation of the mouth as opposed to making it look paler than it is.
Some subtle eye makeup with some mascara and liner, some blush and face powder and lipstick all take a few minutes to put on, but I think this look took much longer than that to create. There’s a similar photo floating around these days of Kate Blanchet (http://lovelyritablog.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/big26.jpg?w=580), where she’s unretouched and made up in the same muted shades of make-up. People think she isn’t wearing it but it’s just artfully done and visible–and there it’s a full face of makeup as well.

She’s not even trying. Modeling is work, and Heidi is phoning it in.

She looks like she is trying to hold back a runny nose. I think it is an OK picture, and she is stunning. I just cannot help but want to put her into some comfy pj’s, hand her some tissue, tuck her into bed and force feed her chicken soup, vitamin C , Zinc & OJ until that head cold she is apparently battling goes away….
